One day, while browsing a blog, I came across a comment where a user was furiously criticizing someone’s statement:
“Who the hell does this guy think he is? Acting all high and mighty, even though he’s just a nobody…”
The hostility in the comment was striking, but what caught my attention was the phrase “a nobody.”
The commenter was using nobody as an insult, yet ironically, they themselves were just another anonymous voice on the internet, venting their frustration. And then it hit me—wasn’t I, too, just another nobody witnessing this exchange from the sidelines?
Yes, the internet is full of nobodies.
But even nobodies encounter an overwhelming flood of information, form thoughts about the world, and have something to say. Being a nobody doesn’t mean having nothing to think about.
This blog is written by one such nobody. But if, in reading my words, even one person crafting their own story feels a moment of curiosity, a flicker of insight, or a quiet “Hmm…”—that alone would bring me great joy.
Sincerely,
Yanakoh, a Nobody
